Rapid Creek Band
Welcome

Listening to “Rapid Creek Band” has been described as sunbathing in the eye of a hurricane. The center (melody and lyrics) of their original songs carry a rare combination of poignancy and simplicity, while, at the same time being surrounded by layers and layers of well-sculpted sound. Their cover songs, while easily recognizable will often include exciting and tasteful new sounds and/or beats.

The powerhouse behind this sound is Ron's mastery of his high-end keyboard and Dave's production skills. For example, Ron might play piano with his right hand, organ with the left, while fading in a string part that is layered under the piano. This would be added to several other tracks they have already prepared and to Dave and Teresa’s guitars and vocals.

Their live performance focuses on a wide range of cover songs from various genres and decades with songs such as “Happy Together” by the Turtles (1960’s), or the Eagles, “Peaceful Easy Feeling” and “Take it Easy”, up to contemporary songs such as Pink’s “Who Knew”, or Coldplay’s “Viva la Vida”, or Adele’s, “Rolling in the Deep”.  Original songs are mixed in through the evening.

“Rapid Creek Band” is comprised of:

Ron Clayson, singer-songwriter, primarily keyboard, drum and bass programming. Ron started out on piano at age 6, then organ at age 10. He jokes that he quit at age 13, because he was more interested in girls and basketball, however, the damage had been done and was continually asked to play at church, weddings and funerals, etc. He resumed musical training in college, though that was not his major.

Dave Morrison: singer-songwriter, primarily guitar, production, drum & bass programming. Dave played guitar and keyboard for the group US, in the 80’s.

Teresa Norvick, lead vocals, rhythm guitar. Teresa graduated from ISU with a major in Theatre and a minor in music. She has performed numerous times in Idaho and California.
